Tutoring Resources

General

Any parent/guardian looking for a tutoring referral can email CANS' Resource Coordinator Julia Bonefield at jbonfield@costars.org. She keeps a list of University of Cincinnati students that have helped in classes at CANS and who are interested in tutoring.

Reading/Dyslexia

If your student has characteristics of dyslexia, then your child may qualify for free tutoring at Children's Dyslexia Center of Cincinnati. The Dyslexia Center tends to request the results of diagnostic tests that indicate the characteristics of dyslexia (CPS can help with many of these diagnostic tests), and the waitlist is often one year. Email the Center for more details.

The Center also keeps a list of private tutors (not free) that may be able to work with your child.

MATH

Mathnasium is a group with locations around the city. They offer one-on-one tutoring in person or over Zoom, including weekends, and have been recommended by parents of CANS students who need extra help in math.
