Hi CANS Families,

We’re excited to kick off the 2025–2026 school year with events, important updates, and opportunities to connect.

Playdates at CANS - this Saturday!

Reconnect with friends and meet new ones before school starts.

📍 CANS Playground

We’re especially looking for Kindergarten, 2nd, and 6th grade families to confirm attendance so each group has at least one family represented.

Schedule:

• Pre-school: 9:30–10:15

• Kindergarten: 10:30–11:15

• 1st Grade: 11:30–12:15

• 2nd Grade: 1:00–1:45

• 3rd Grade: 2:00–2:45

• 4th Grade: 3:00–3:45

• 5th Grade: 4:00–4:45

• 6th Grade: 5:00–5:45

Back-to-School Supply Drive

At CANS, we community source school supplies. Instead of each family buying individual lists, we use a Sign-Up Genius where families contribute what they can — bulk purchases welcome.

The only required item for each student: a backpack.

✅ Fully covered: Pre-K, Kindergarten, and 5th Grade supplies

Cougar Cross Country (3rd–6th Grade)

Practice: Tuesdays & Thursdays, 2:10–3:40 p.m., starting 9/9
Season ends 11/13
Meets: 10/7, 10/21, 10/30 at 5:30 p.m. (Withrow High School)

Registration: $50 per student (discount code available). Scholarships available — select YES on the form if needed.

Led by Mr. Drew after school, 2:10–3:15 p.m.

1st Grade Dates: Wednesdays — Sept. 3, 10, 17, 24 & Oct. 1, 8, 15, 22, 29

Theater Club

CANS is offering Theater Club again this Fall with two exciting options:

1. “Kids Act Out – Performance Workshop”
Featuring a production of Cinderella, It’s Really About the Mice!

• Grades: K–6

• Spots: 25 available

• Dates: Sep. 24 – Nov. 7 (no class Oct. 31)

• Cast 1: Wed / Fri, 2:15–3:45 p.m.

• Cast 2: Wed / Fri, 3:45–5:15 p.m.

• Final Performances: Nov. 8 — 12:00 p.m. (Cast 1) & 3:00 p.m. (Cast 2) in the CANS Auditorium

2. “Creating Character – Theater Boot Camp”
Featuring Heroes & Villains

• Grades: K–3

• Spots: 18 available

• Dates: Tuesdays, 2:15–3:15 p.m., Sep. 23 – Oct. 28

• Final Showcase: Oct. 28 in the CANS Auditorium
